Volleyball Recap: Cactus Shadows Extends Winning Streak to Three

Cactus Shadows waltzed into their matchup on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the St. Mary's Knights. This was a revenge game for the Falcons: when they faced off against the Knights on October 8th, they had to take a 3-2 loss.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Cactus Shadows got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 24-26, 25-22, 25-27, 15-11.

Gabby Procopio went supernova, getting 32 digs and five aces. Those 32 digs gave her a new career-high.

Procopio wasn't the only good servers: Cactus Shadows was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in three consecutive matches.

Cactus Shadows' record now sits at 17-6. As for St. Mary's, with the defeat, they broke their three-match winning streak and moved their record to 18-9.

Cactus Shadows didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Mesquite on the 28th. As for St. Mary's, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Saguaro on the 29th.
