Football Recap: Hesperia Takes a Loss

Hesperia fell victim to Oak Hills and their airtight defense on Thursday. They were beaten by the Bulldogs 45-0. Having soared to a lofty 33 points in the game before, the Scorpions' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Oak Hills' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Christopher Martin led the charge by rushing for 108 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only five carries. Jewellz Parm also helped out with an impressive 134 receiving yards.

Hesperia's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Oak Hills, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 8-2.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Hesperia will square off against Moreno Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Vikings' defense has only allowed 13.9 points per game this season, so the Scorpions' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Oak Hills, they will face off against Pacifica at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 943 yards in their previous games.
