Recap: Silver Lake Mustangs vs. Sumner-Eddyville-Miller Mustangs
It was a good run, but the Silver Lake Mustangs unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 57-48 to Sumner-Eddyville-Miller. If Silver Lake hoped to take revenge for the 55-28 defeat against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jordan Faimon, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. Keaton Karr was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Cohen Rohde was his usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks for Sumner-Eddyville-Miller. Rohde has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Colt Schroeder, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Silver Lake's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-3. As for Sumner-Eddyville-Miller, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.
Silver Lake will head out on the road to face off against Harvard at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Harvard is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. Sumner-Eddyville-Miller will take on Ansley/Litchfield at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ansley/Litchfield is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.
