Lowndes faced Colquitt County in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Vikings enjoyed a cozy 31-14 win over the Packers. The 31-point effort marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Leading Lowndes to victory were Mason Woods and Jayce Johnson. Woods rushed for 121 yards and two scores, while Johnson rushed for 57 yards and one TD. Woods got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 64 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Lowndes was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 216 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 215 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Lowndes' record now sits at 6-0. As for Colquitt County, they moved to 4-2 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

The Vikings will be up against the Blue Devils' rather soft defense (which has allowed 30.83 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Colquitt County, they will square off against Valdosta at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats' defense has only allowed 12 points per game this season, so the Packers' offense will have their work cut out for them.
