Softball Recap: Florence/Henry Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Castlewood

Florence/Henry faced Castlewood in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Falcons took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors. The Falcons were red-hot at the plate heading into the matchup (they scored no less than ten runs in the four games prior), but the Warriors' pitchers proved too tough.

Florence/Henry moved to 5-2 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for Castlewood, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.

Florence/Henry wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 5-1 win against Baltic on the 1st. Hopefully Castlewood paid attention to the Falcons' matchup: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Falcons at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
