Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Issaquah walked away with it. They put the hurt on the Skyline Spartans with a sharp 14-6 win on Friday. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by six runs or more this season.
Shae Erickson (2027) made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up six earned runs off ten hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs, seven RBI, and three runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Shaina Starnicky (2028) was a standout: she fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-5. What's more, she posted two runs, the most she's had since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Sadie Huryn (2025), who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base.
Issaquah kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive contests.
Issaquah's victory was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-3. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.9 runs over those games. As for Skyline, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 21-4.
As of now, neither Issaquah nor the Spartans have any future games scheduled.
