Football Game Preview: Goode STEM Academy Knights vs. Carver Challengers

The Goode STEM Academy Knights will head out to square off against the Carver Challengers at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Goode STEM Academy has five straight wins, Carver has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Goode STEM Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Dyett 58-18 on Saturday. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by 34 points or more this season.

Aedan Cleveland continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 88 yards and one touchdown on only ten carries. He got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 62 yards.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Goode STEM Academy proved: they limited Dyett to a paltry 3.1 yards per carry. The team can thank Quaylen Dobbs for the heroic effort on defense: he. That's the most yards per carry they've posted since back in September of 2024.

Goode STEM Academy's defense didn't let the opposing QB, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for four sacks. Dobbs was especially locked on to Dyett's QB and sacked him twice. With that strong performance, Dobbs is now averaging an impressive 128 rushing yards per game.

Meanwhile, Carver fell victim to South Shore International and their airtight defense on Friday. They had to suffer through a 27-0 loss at the hands of the Tars.

Goode STEM Academy's record is now 5-0. As for Carver, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Goode STEM Academy couldn't quite finish off Carver when the teams last played back in September of 2023 and fell 19-16. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
