Recap: Lutheran-Northeast Eagles vs. Wakefield Trojans
This season hasn't been kind to the Lutheran-Northeast Eagles, who are still winless after their ninth contest. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Wakefield an easy 68-42 victory. Lutheran-Northeast has struggled against Wakefield recently, as their game on Thursday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Lutheran-Northeast still got an impressive performance from Delaney Rose-hancock, who scored 13 points. Kealy Ranslem was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Lutheran-Northeast bumped their record down to 0-9 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Wakefield, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.
Lutheran-Northeast and Hartington-Newcastle will round out the year against one another at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday at. Hartington-Newcastle will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. Wakefield will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Woodbury Central on January 4, 2024. Woodbury Central comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
