Basketball Recap: Ash Grove Comes Up Short

Ash Grove was the 70-44 winner over Pierce City when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Ash Grove Pirates received a blow on Friday as they fell 58-43 to the Pierce City Eagles.

Ash Grove's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 10-8. As for Pierce City, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-7 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ash Grove will challenge Miller at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pierce City, they will take on Marionville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
