Softball Game Preview: Los Fresnos Falcons vs. Harlingen Cardinals

The Los Fresnos Falcons will head out to take on the Harlingen Cardinals at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Los Fresnos has given up an average of 8.7 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Los Fresnos lost 11-1 to Veterans Memorial on Friday. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Harlingen entered their tilt with Hanna on Friday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They beat the Golden Eagles by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 18-3. The Cardinals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Harlingen's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-9. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Los Fresnos, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-13-1.

Los Fresnos suffered a grim 12-2 defeat to Harlingen in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
