Basketball Recap: Paradise Valley Christian Prep Comes Up Short

Paradise Valley Christian Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 19th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against Ville de Marie Academy, falling 67-33. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 294th, while Ville de Marie Academy are ranked 65th).

It was another big night for Daniel Dwyer, who posted 34 points and six steals for Ville de Marie Academy. Dwyer has been hot for a while, having posted three or more steals the last 15 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Benedetti, who put up 12 points and six boards.

Paradise Valley Christian Prep's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Ville de Marie Academy, they pushed their record up to 12-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Paradise Valley Christian Prep will head out on the road to challenge American Heritage Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in American Heritage Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six contests. As for Ville de Marie Academy, they will be playing at home against Arrowhead Christian Academy at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Arrowhead Christian Academy will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Ville de Marie Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
