Basketball Game Preview: Moundridge Wildcats vs. Bennington Bulldogs

Two dominant guards in Cammi Unruh and Rori Miles are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Moundridge Wildcats are taking a road trip to take on the Bennington Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Moundridge is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Marion: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Moundridge blew Marion out of the water with a 62-17 final score. With the Wildcats ahead 34-11 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Meanwhile, Bennington had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They claimed a resounding 57-25 victory over the Lions. The Bulldogs pushed the score to 44-20 by the end of the third, a deficit the Lions had little chance of recovering from.

Moundridge has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 31.8 points. As for Bennington, their win bumped their record up to 14-2.

Moundridge was able to grind out a solid victory over Bennington in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, winning 54-47. The rematch might be a little tougher for Moundridge since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
