Basketball Recap: Ethan Caruthers' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Golden Sierra over Foresthill

Golden Sierra lost against Foresthill back in December of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Golden Sierra Grizzlies fell 70-59 to the Foresthill Wildfires. The Grizzlies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Golden Sierra lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Ethan Caruthers, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 10 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Bradley Dodson, who posted 13 points in addition to six steals and three blocks.

Even though they lost, Golden Sierra smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in ten consecutive matches.

Golden Sierra's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Foresthill, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Golden Sierra will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Valley at 2:00 p.m. on December 30th. Foresthill also won't see the court for a while: their next game is against Sacramento Waldorf at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
