Volleyball Recap: St. Thomas More Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

There's no place like home for St. Thomas More, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Spearfish Spartans 3-2 on Tuesday. This was payback for the Cavaliers, who suffered a 3-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (106-102) St. Thomas More actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-20, 25-21, 12-25, 17-15.

St. Thomas More pushed their record up to 17-4 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Spearfish, with the defeat, they broke their four-match winning streak and moved their record to 12-6.

St. Thomas More and Spearfish should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps South Dakota Rankings. The Cavaliers will take on Mahpiya Luta at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (26 vs. 135). Meanwhile, Spearfish (ranked 18th) will meet Douglas (ranked 99th) on Saturday.
