Basketball Recap: Thornridge Takes a Loss

Thornridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. The contest between them and the Thornwood Thunderbirds didn't end well, with the Thornridge Falcons falling 72-54. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Falcons of the 0-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Thornwood to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jordan Jones, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance gave Jones a new career-high in boards. Dorian Pope was another key player, putting up nine points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Thornridge's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Thornwood, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-11.

Thornridge didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 57-50 loss against Crete-Monee on the 24th. As for Thornwood, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 66-38 victory against Corliss on the 19th.
