Basketball Game Preview: Grand Junction Central Warriors vs. Delta Panthers

The Grand Junction Central Warriors will be taking part in a tournament against the Delta Panthers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 11 consecutive losses dating back to last season for Grand Junction Central and four for Delta.

Grand Junction Central's tournament run continued when they took on Ponderosa on Thursday. Grand Junction Central was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 49-48 to Ponderosa.

Meanwhile, Delta lost to Montezuma-Cortez on the road by a 61-47 margin on Thursday.

Delta's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Grand Junction Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.

Grand Junction Central skirted past Delta 57-55 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Delta's Erik Baier, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds.
