Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mitchell). They couldn't have asked for a better start to 2025 than the 103-67 blowout they got against the Largo Packers. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Mitchell's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Christopher Stoddart, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Eli Wilson, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 assists.

Mitchell smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Largo only pulled down three offensive rebounds.

Despite the loss, Largo had strong showings from Chase Clark, who went 9 of 15 on his way to 21 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals, and Cailon Kaigler, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Denzel Johnson, who posted eight points and six rebounds.

Mitchell's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Largo, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.

Mitchell wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 64-47 defeat against Springstead on the 3rd. As for Largo, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 70-52 loss against Leto on the 3rd.
