Baseball Recap: Lake Braddock Wins Going Away Against Edison

After losing to Edison the last time they met, Lake Braddock decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Bruins were the clear victors by an 11-4 margin over the Eagles on Monday. The Bruins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by six runs or more this season.

Jack Cavallario tossed a big game, tossing six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits.

At the plate, Evan George was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in March. CJ Prentiss was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Lake Braddock has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Edison, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake Braddock will square off against Churchill at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bruins are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Edison, they will head out on the road to take on South County at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles will also cruise into their next game with the timing on their side: the Stallions will have lost three straight heading into Wednesday's contest.
