Soccer Recap: Newton Falls Comes Up Short

Newton Falls was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They came up short against the Grand Valley Mustangs, falling 9-0. If Newton Falls were looking for revenge after losing 3-2 to Grand Valley when the teams met back in September of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Newton Falls' defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Grand Valley, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Looking ahead, Newton Falls will head out on the road to face off against Southeast at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Southeast's defense has only allowed 0.5 goals per game this season, so Newton Falls' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Grand Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Jefferson Area at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Grand Valley will be up against Jefferson Area's rather soft defense (which has allowed 5.2 goals per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
