Softball Recap: Harbor Comes Up Short

Harbor extended their losing streak to ten on Tuesday, dropping them down to 2-10. They lost 16-6 to the Scotts Valley Falcons. That's two games in a row now that the Pirates have lost by exactly ten runs.

As for Scotts Valley, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-8-1. Considering they have won five contests by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Scotts Valley's part, Chloe Kent was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Kent was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Natalie Murray-Skalland was a standout: she got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. What's more, she posted two hits, the most she's had since back in March. Jillian Oing was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Harbor is set to face off against their familiar foe San Lorenzo Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Scotts Valley will square off against rival Soquel at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
