Football Recap: Washington Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Washington had to start their season on the road on Saturday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a 42-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wisdom Generals. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 6-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

Despite the loss, Washington saw an underclassman step up: freshman Daryl Clark threw for 147 yards and three touchdowns.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Washington will challenge Houston Math Science & Tech at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Wisdom, they will take on Milby at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
