Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Wesley Chapel walked away with it. They blew past the River Ridge Royal Knights 8-2 on Saturday. This was a revenge game for the Wildcats: when they faced off against the Royal Knights on Thursday, they had to take a 11-0 loss.

Chase Flemming spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Zorre Wright, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Dylan Pabon was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Wesley Chapel kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Wesley Chapel is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-14 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.2 runs over those games. As for River Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-10.
