Soccer Game Preview: Sunnyside vs. Davis

The Sunnyside Grizzlies will venture away from home to take on the Davis Pirates at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Sunnyside is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. Their defense stepped up to hand West Valley a 6-0 shutout on Tuesday. Sunnyside haven't had any issues with West Valley recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Davis faced Eastmont in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Pirates came out on top in a nail-biter against the Wildcats, sneaking past 1-0. The game was the first time Davis have beaten Eastmont on their pitch since May 13, 2023.

Davis' one-goal win came courtesy of Jaime Alcocer, who's now up to four this season.

Davis' victory bumped their record up to 5-2-1. As for Sunnyside, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
