Softball Recap: Anthem Prep Sets Scoring Season-High Against North Valley Christian Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Anthem Prep). Everything went their way against the North Valley Christian Academy Lions on Monday as they made off with a 27-10 win. Considering the Eagles have won 12 contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Grace Stillwell made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Stillwell was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off four runs, four doubles, and four RBI while going 4-for-5. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Chloe Palacios was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and one double. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bailey McCabe, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.

Anthem Prep was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .700. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

With the victory, Anthem Prep broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 12-9. As for North Valley Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.

Looking ahead, Anthem Prep will challenge Bagdad at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for North Valley Christian Academy, they will square off against Kingman Academy at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 11.8 runs per game this season.
