Basketball Recap: Aurora Central Trojans vs. Rangeview Raiders
The Aurora Central Trojans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 72-31 defeat at the hands of Rangeview. Aurora Central was down 64-28 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Despite the loss, Aurora Central still got an impressive performance from Charles Laurendine II, who scored 17 points. Laurendine II is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 17 or more in the last six games he's played.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rangeview to victory, but perhaps none more so than Elijah Denney, who scored ten points along with five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Yasin Sekue, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Aurora Central's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Rangeview, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-10 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Aurora Central will take on the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rangeview, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the Angels at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Denver East's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five contests.
