Volleyball Recap: Lugoff-Elgin's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Lugoff-Elgin waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past the Ridge View Blazers 3-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in September.

One reason for the win was Lugoff-Elgin's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-11, 25-10.

Haylee Roberts paced Lugoff-Elgin's offense, picking up 19 kills. Roberts got some help from Dannine Newton and her 22 assists. Finally, Bri Williams kept Lugoff-Elgin's defense grounded, leading the team with six blocks.

Lugoff-Elgin's win bumped their record up to 15-3. As for Ridge View, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-8-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Lugoff-Elgin is set to take on their familiar foe Westwood at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Ridge View will face off against rival West Florence at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
