This season hasn't been kind to Bethel Christian, who are still winless after their sixth match. Their rough 65-45 loss to CORE Butte on Wednesday might stick with them for a while. Bethel Christian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-19.
Despite the loss, Bethel Christian saw an underclassman step up: Braden Johnson scored 31 points. That's the first time this season that Johnson scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Mulieri, who scored five points.
Bethel Christian bumped their record down to 0-6 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for CORE Butte, their victory ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-7.
