Volleyball Recap: Klein Oak's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

It was a good run, but Klein Oak unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Oak Ridge War Eagles by a score of 2-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 3-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2021.

Loss or not, Klein Oak got some senior leadership from Samantha Kuehnle and Erin Carpenter. Kuehnle had 12 assists and eight digs, while Carpenter had ten digs and one assist.

Guen Blackburn was the offensive standout of the game as she had eight assists and two aces. That's the most aces she has posted over her last ten matchups. Bella Pollard also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Klein Oak's defeat dropped their record down to 22-7. As for Oak Ridge, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.

Klein Oak wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Waller on the 30th. As for Oak Ridge, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Montgomery on the 30th.
