Basketball Recap: Sky View Find Success

Layton came into Tuesday's matchup looking for another win against Sky View, but Claire Fischer wouldn't allow it. The Sky View Bobcats walked away with a 52-45 victory over the Layton Lancers on Tuesday thanks in part to Fischer, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 13 boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Sky View's points.

Another player making a difference was Mya Eskelson, who posted 11 points and seven assists. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

When it comes to explaining why Layton lost, don't look at Lindsey Thurgood. Despite the final result, she went 9 of 15 on her way to 21 points. Thurgood is also crushing it when it comes to blocks: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Hadley Collier was another key player, putting up six points along with eight assists and five steals.

Sky View now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Layton, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Sky View didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 45-32 win against Jordan on the 4th. As for Layton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 71-23 defeat against Lone Peak on the 4th.
