            It may have taken  nine innings to finish the job, but Lowell ultimately got the result they hoped for  on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  3-1  win over the Allendale Falcons. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won  5-3  on Monday.
 Ty Wasilenski was a  major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he  tossed one inning while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  given up  more than one  walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-4 with one  home run and two  RBI. Those  two  RBI gave  him a new career-high.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Blake Sitzer, who  went 2-for-4 with two  runs and one  stolen base.
Lowell has  been performing  well recently as they've  won nine of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5-1 record  this season. The  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Allendale, they dropped their record down to 3-15 with the  defeat, which was their tenth straight  at home.
Lowell will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Falcons: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled  at 4:00  p.m.  on Wednesday.
