Basketball Recap: James Madison Comes Up Short

James Madison lost against Westfield back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The James Madison Warhawks fell 51-39 to the Westfield Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Warhawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 143rd in Virginia, while the Bulldogs are ranked 21st in Virginia).

Westfield can attribute much of their success to William Robinson, who posted 18 points. Another player making a difference was Mathias Lee, who earned eight points.

James Madison has been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 15 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-15 record this season. Westfield pushed their record up to 18-6 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

James Madison has already played their next match, a 42-33 victory against McLean on the 25th. As for Westfield, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-46 win against South Lakes on the 21st.
