Baseball Game Preview: Camden Hills Windjammers vs. Brunswick Dragons

The Camden Hills Windjammers are taking a road trip to take on the Brunswick Dragons at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

Camden Hills lost 13-3 to Bangor on Monday. The Windjammers have struggled against the Rams recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Cole Hedrich made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Brunswick). They came out on top against Mt. Blue by a score of 8-4 on Thursday. That's two games straight that the Dragons have won by exactly four runs.

Lism Scholl made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off one hit. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 5.8 strikeouts per game. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. He also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season.

In other batting news, Henry Blood was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season.

The win made it two in a row for Brunswick and bumps their season record up to 3-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7 runs in those games. As for Camden Hills, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Camden Hills might still be hurting after the 9-1 loss they got from Brunswick in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Windjammers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
