Faith Baptist waltzed into their game on Thursday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They never let the Desert Christian Knights get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Contenders, who have now won six matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

Hailey Coronel made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Coronel was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, two stolen bases, and three runs. Those two triples gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Lianna Palacios was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. She is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last five games she's played. Opal Thomas was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Faith Baptist always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .652. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Faith Baptist's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-5-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Desert Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 8-12-1.
