Football Recap: Tattnall Square Academy Takes a Loss

Tattnall Square Academy extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to ten on Friday, dropping them down to 0-8. They took a blow against the Stratford Academy Eagles, falling 49-0. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 429th, while the Eagles are ranked 199th).

As for Stratford Academy, their victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 6-2. That looming 49-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.

Stratford Academy was led to victory by Tyler Stephens and Tucker Johnston. Stephens rushed for 121 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries, while Johnston threw for 132 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 77.8% of his passes. What's more, Johnston posted two passing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in August.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Tattnall Square Academy will face off against John Milledge Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. John Milledge Academy will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Tattnall Square Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Stratford Academy, they will square off against Mount de Sales Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
