Baseball Recap: Vincennes Lincoln Beats Tecumseh for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Vincennes Lincoln had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Tecumseh on Friday. The Alices were the clear victors by a 15-6 margin over the Braves. The result was nothing new for the Alices, who have now won five matches by nine runs or more so far this season.

Paxton Smith made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Smith was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Brody Phillips was incredible, going 4-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That triple was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Luke Hall, who went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Vincennes Lincoln always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tecumseh only posted an OBP of .364.

The victory (which was Vincennes Lincoln's fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Tecumseh, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Vincennes Lincoln will welcome Washington at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Tecumseh, they will square off against North Posey at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Braves' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 9.7 runs per game this season.
