Basketball Game Preview: Willow Spring Storm vs. Northern Durham Knights

The Willow Spring Storm and the Northern Durham Knights will round out the year against one another at at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Willow Spring's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight games.

Willow Spring is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest defeat since January 30th on Thursday. They took a blow against Garner, falling 95-68. The Storm have struggled against the Trojans recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Willow Spring got top-tier performance from Grant Overman, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds. Overman has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more blocks the last 30 times he's played. Brandon Brooks was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Meanwhile, Northern Durham had to suffer through a 73-40 loss at the hands of South Granville. The Knights were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-21.

Northern Durham has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Willow Spring, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.
