Basketball Game Preview: Hitchcock-Tulare Patriots vs. Highmore/Harrold Pirates

The Hitchcock-Tulare Patriots will venture away from home to challenge the Highmore/Harrold Pirates at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Hitchcock-Tulare is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Sunshine Bible Academy: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Hitchcock-Tulare blew Sunshine Bible Academy out of the water with a 50-6 final score. With the Patriots ahead 32-5 at the half, the game was all but over already.

It was another big night for Katelyn Schroeder, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 boards. That's the most rebounds she has posted since back in January of 2024. Keilee Schone also deserves some recognition as she posted her first blocks of the season.

Meanwhile, Highmore/Harrold sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 45-42 victory over Philip on Saturday.

The win made it two in a row for Hitchcock-Tulare and bumps their season record up to 7-9. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 38.5 points. As for Highmore/Harrold, their record is now 13-3.

Hitchcock-Tulare lost to Highmore/Harrold on the road by a decisive 68-50 margin in their previous meeting back in January. Can Hitchcock-Tulare avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
