Soccer Game Preview: Hampton vs. Bethel

The Hampton Crabbers will face off against the Bethel Bruins at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hampton will be strutting in after a victory while Bethel will be coming in after a loss.

If Bethel heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Hampton took over last week. The Crabbers walked away with a 3-1 win over Heritage on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Bethel fell victim to Menchville and their airtight defense on Thursday. They lost 4-0 to the Monarchs. While losing is never fun, Bethel can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 212th, while Menchville are ranked 23rd).

Hampton's victory bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Bethel, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4-2.

Hampton couldn't quite get it done against Bethel when the teams last played back in May of 2025 as they fell 3-1. Can the Crabbers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
