Softball Recap: Dixie Greyhounds vs. Tri-County North Panthers
Dixie extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping them down to 5-10. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tri-County North Panthers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Greyhounds of the 11-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.

Jacie Hartimer made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played. Bethany Himan was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.
As for Tri-County North, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.6 runs over those games.
On Tri-County North's side, Lola Grieshop and Alayna MtCastle made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Grieshop pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, MtCastle struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. At the plate, Grieshop went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI, while MtCastle went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI. Those two doubles gave MtCastle a new career-high.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Alyssa Arnett, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs.
Looking ahead, Dixie will take on Twin Valley South at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tri-County North, they will face off against Eaton at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
