Recap: Cheylin Cougars vs. Rawlins County Buffaloes
After losing to the Rawlins County Buffaloes the last time they met, the Cheylin Cougars decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Cheylin strolled past Rawlins County with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 62-44. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Cheylin.
Pablo Bermudez was his usual excellent self, scoring 27 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Cheylin's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan McCarty, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Despite the loss, Rawlins County still got an impressive performance from Brayan Rodriguez, who scored 22 points along with six steals. Rodriguez hasn't dropped below 15 points for three straight games.
Cheylin pushed their record up to 13-5 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Rawlins County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-12.
Cheylin will head out on the road to square off against Wauneta-Palisade on Thursday. Cheylin is facing Wauneta-Palisade at the right time seeing as Wauneta-Palisade is stuck on a 15-game losing streak. As for Rawlins County, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Quinter at 4:00 p.m. Quinter will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Rawlins County surely won't give up without a fight.
