Volleyball Game Preview: Trinity Catholic Celtics vs. Plant Panthers

The Trinity Catholic Celtics will challenge the Plant Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

If Gainesville wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Trinity Catholic, they should've done a better job of containing Lyla Huggins. The Celtics blew past the Hurricanes 3-0 on Tuesday for which the team can thank Huggins, who had 16 digs and six aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last six games she's played.

Trinity Catholic was especially dominant in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-18, 25-20.

Meanwhile, Plant got the win against Steinbrenner on Tuesday by a conclusive 3-0.

Plant walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the first set). The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-18, 25-21.

Plant's victory ended a five-match drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 11-8. As for Trinity Catholic, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
