Volleyball Recap: Winside Has No Trouble Against Winnebago

Winside's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Winnebago Indians as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Indians: they've now won four in a row.

Winside never let Winnebago on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-15, 25-23.

Aftyn Schutt paced Winside's offense, picking up 11 kills. Schutt got some help from Hadleigh Schutt and her 15 assists. Finally, Aftyn was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high five blocks.

The victory got Winside back to even at 8-8. As for Winnebago, their loss dropped their record down to 5-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Winside will challenge Niobrara/Verdigre at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Winnebago, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Homer at 5:00 p.m.
