Basketball Game Preview: Woodmont Wildcats vs. Greenwood Eagles

The Woodmont Wildcats will venture away from home to challenge the Greenwood Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Tuesday, Woodmont ended up a good deal behind Easley and lost 66-49. The match marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Greenwood has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 56-53 heartbreaker at the hands of Hillcrest.

Woodmont will need focus on slowing down Cj Terrell, one of several Greenwood players who made an impact when they last played. He went 6 for 13 on his way to 20 points and seven rebounds. Terrell has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last three times he's played. Jeremiah Brooks was another key player, putting up 14 points and six rebounds.

Woodmont's loss dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Greenwood, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 10-5.

Woodmont didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Greenwood in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 65-61 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Terrell, who went 11 of 17 on his way to 26 points along with seven boards and four blocks.
