Basketball Recap: Oakwood Academy Comes Up Short

If Oakwood Academy was feeling good fresh off their 67-44 takedown of Trinity Christian Academy last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Warhawks were beaten by the Berean Christian Academy Lions 81-49 on Tuesday.

Oakwood Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Sawyer Jones, who went 8-for-19 to rack up 19 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Braeden Raeper, who shot 42% from the field en route to 12 points and eight boards.

Oakwood Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

While they had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on December 2.
