Football Recap: Juab Takes a Loss

Juab entered their contest against Cedar on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Wasps fell 41-35 to the Reds. The Wasps were up 14-0 in the first quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

When it comes to explaining why Juab lost, don't look at Price Armstrong. Despite the final result, he threw for 256 yards and one touchdown.

It was another big night for Everett Kelling, who rushed for 196 yards and three scores while picking up 9.8 yards per carry, and also threw for 168 yards and one TD for Cedar. Those 196 rushing yards gave Kelling a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Braxton Demille, who rushed for 120 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Juab suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 7-2. As for Cedar, they pushed their record up to 9-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Juab will challenge North Sanpete at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Cedar, they will take on Carbon at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Reds will be up against the Dinos' rather soft defense (which has allowed 34.89 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
