Basketball Recap: Hughes Comes Up Short

Hughes was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 35-33 heartbreaker at the hands of the Taft Senators. The BIG RED were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Senators earlier this season, when they won 41-14.

Taft was led to victory by Trennadee Chancellor and JaKyra Thompson. Chancellor posted 16 points, while Thompson had 18 points. Those 16 points gave Chancellor a new career-high.

Hughes' loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Taft, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-13.

Hughes does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Taft has already played their next contest (against North College Hill), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
