Baseball Recap: Mountain View Triumphs

Mountain View posted their closest win since May 1, 2025 on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 victory over the Montrose Meteors. The Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Meteors, too.

Jordan Jagger made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off two hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2025. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

In other batting news, Corey Trichilo and Jesse Keating did most of the damage at the plate: Trichilo went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run, while Keating got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI. Hudson Bain was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs.

Mountain View's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Montrose, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Coming up, Mountain View will take on Elk Lake at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season. As for Montrose, they will look to defend their home field on the 18th against Tunkhannock at 11:00 a.m.
