Baseball Game Preview: Haleyville Lions vs. Hamilton Aggies

The Haleyville Lions will take on the Hamilton Aggies at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Haleyville will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Jadyn Marbutt made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits (and not a single walk). The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero). He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He has become a key player for Haleyville: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-6 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Evan Cagle, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jacob Barnwell, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
