Volleyball Recap: Commodore Perry Comes Up Short

If Commodore Perry was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Kennedy Catholic last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers lost 3-0 to the Rocky Grove Orioles on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Orioles: they've now lost four in a row.

Commodore Perry was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-22, 25-11.

Leading Rocky Grove to victory were Jillian Cratty and Anna Rodgers. Cratty had nine digs and three aces, while Rodgers had eight digs and four assists. Those four assists gave Rodgers a new career-high.

Commodore Perry's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Rocky Grove, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-4.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Commodore Perry is set to challenge their familiar foe Farrell at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Rocky Grove will face off against rival Reynolds at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
