Recap: Coastal Christian Centurions vs. New Hanover Wildcats
If the Coastal Christian Centurions were riding high off their 67-47 takedown of the Thales Academy Apex Titans last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Coastal Christian's rough 64-38 loss to New Hanover on Tuesday might stick with them for a while. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Coastal Christian in their matchups with New Hanover: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the loss, Coastal Christian still got an impressive performance from Aidan Davies, who scored 22 points. The contest was Davies' seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Holden Martin, who scored 8 points.
New Hanover can attribute much of their success to CJ Kornegay, who scored 20 points. Another player making a difference was Zeus Batts, who scored 11 points along with 5 assists and 4 steals.
Coastal Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for New Hanover, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Coastal Christian is on the road again on Friday and play against Wilson Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on December 8th. As for New Hanover, they will be playing at home against Cardinal Gibbons at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
